How to get Ready for the Spring Season

How to get Ready for the Spring Season

When updating your Spring wardrobe after a long haul winter, there are quite a few tips I have always used to refresh my Spring wardrobe with light and bright colors for the upcoming blossoming season.

The Breezing Materials

Whether I pass on a few tops from my winter wardrobe or shopping fresh for the Spring season, I always read the fabric label to make sure the tops, dresses and even trousers I wear from April onwards are made of cotton, linen, silk or organza. While wool is a bit too thick for Spring, materials like Rayon, Polyester or Viscose are either very uncomfortable wear or doesn't look flattering after a few washes.Whereas cotton and linen, on the other hand, are perfect for warmer daytime and silks are perfect for Spring evenings.

The Light Reflecting Colours

Of course, Spring is the season of fresh colors and usually, pastels dominate this season both in clothing as well as in accessories. But I have always found that the shades of the pastels may vary and what looks best on you also depend on your skin color as well as what you are pairing it with. The fail-safe outfit is a head to toe cream outfit. While doing a total white look can be left for Summer, a cream is a color both neutral as well as light reflecting, which makes sure that you are going to make a stunning look under the rising sun. It is also an elegant and sophisticated colour to wear to work and just as gorgeous for a casual look as well.

TheĀ Face and Body Matters

While I slather on a lot of moisturizers and cover up all the dry patches under a great layer of foundation during the winter, Spring is the time to let your skin breath. A light blusher, a nude lipstick, and a brown eyeliner are all I need for most days and I think it adds to the freshness of the season and goes with the whole breathable lightweight look that is so iconic of my favorite season. At most I love a good tinted moisturiser and a cream blush for a day time and perhaps a red lips look for the evening.
